Our trip …

It may change and it wouldn’t be the first time however as of today this is our worldwide tour itinerary:

Our first stop will be the US West Coast or at least a glimpse of it. There are several reasons for that:

  • The period is not so bad for East Asia but September may be a little bit too early as the rain season is not yet over in many places. As October is probably better suited,  it will be our next stop.
  • As we are not yet experienced globe-trotter, we need to run a training period where each member of the family can get used to pack and unpack their stuff day after day.
Not being home requires especially for our children to behave and eat differently; Testing their understanding and capabilities to adapt to a foreign but still very safe environment may be useful for the rest of the journey.
  • Last but not least! We will take some days to visit my dear friend Fred at his home in Salt Lake City. Taking the time to enjoy some good time together with friends is also an important objective of the tour.

So in a nutshell, this is the September program:

  1. With Fred in Salt Lake City from day 3 (the first 2 days in San Francisco) to the 8th. We hope that Fred will be our guide for 1 or 2 days @Yellowstone.
  2. This is now when Olivia is going to join and when we will leave SLC for a 20 days road trip through the parks (Bryce, Zion, Gran Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches) and Vegas to reach LA at the end of the month.

We are now ready to move to East Asia for the next 2 months:

  1. Our friend Olivier and his daughter will do a long trip to spend 2 weeks with us. Bali is the destination and we have a busy program with some relaxing days at the end.
  2. After Bali there will be another stop in Indonesia before joining Thailand. We will arrive in Chiang Mai the day before Loi Krathong and you can expect nice pictures. Bangkok and Phuket are also on the plan.
  3. We have planned some stops during our transit flights. We will spend 1 or 2 days in Singapour, Kualu Lumpur, Siem Reap etc…

The next stopover will be Australia where we will spend 6 weeks, Christmas and New Year. The detailled plan has not yet been decided but there will be enough to do !

Around mid-January, we will spend a few days in Europe before starting the second part of our trip, flying back to the Americas.

Our first stop will be Brazil and the Rio carnival. We also already know that we will be in Costa Rica for 3 weeks where my parents will join. We will close the tour with the US and Canada. In between, Cuba and Peru may become our home countries for a few weeks.

However this is still very far away and it may change…

    Gros bisous ,

  2. Oh dear Papa is a very good reporter in English ! I am able to read !
